O Cosmedics LED Light Therapy

What you need to know when choosing a home LED device.

Our clients love the results they see from their in-salon LED treatments. However, we understand it’s not always possible to visit the salon every week. To help maintain and build on those results, many clients choose to use an at-home LED device in between their professional treatments.

With so many LED devices on the market, it’s easy to assume that price alone determines quality — and while you often get what you pay for, cost shouldn’t be the only factor. It’s important to choose a device that suits your needs, is safe to use, and delivers the results you’re looking for.

Things to look out for:

Functionality & Usage:

Are you looking to treat more than just your face? If so, a rigid face mask may not be the best option. Choosing a device designed for both face and body allows you to treat a wider range of concerns. LED is incredibly versatile as a home device and can be used for sunburn, muscle strain, post-surgery scars, breakouts on the back, and many other skin and body concerns.

It’s also important your chosen device includes safety features such as protective goggles and is made from high-quality materials that are easy to clean — ideally flexible, medical-grade silicone for comfort and hygiene.

LED Colours & Quantity:

Many devices on the market offer red and blue wavelengths, which are the most commonly used to target key skin concerns. However, choosing a device that also includes Near-Infrared (NIR) is highly beneficial. NIR is invisible to the eye and penetrates deeper into the skin to support muscles, joints, and deep-tissue repair. When used alongside other wavelengths, NIR can also enhance overall treatment results.

It’s also important to consider LED coverage. A device with more LEDs typically provides more even coverage and higher total energy output. Sparse LED placement can leave gaps in treatment, which may lead to uneven skin improvements.

With these specifications in mind, O Cosmedics has released a new LED face and body device designed for at-home use. We’re excited about the quality of this device and the results our clients are already seeing.

Here are some frequently asked questions about the new O Cosmedics LED device.

WHY CHOOSE THE O COSMEDICS LED DEVICE?

What makes the O Cosmedics LED different from other at-home LED devices?

Unlike most devices on the market, the O LED offers four clinically proven wavelengths (Red, Blue, Yellow, Near Infrared), 240 high-output LEDs, and customised modes that treat both the face and body.  It delivers professional-strength results at home, supporting long-term skin health between client visits.

What is power output, and why does it matter?

Power output (mW/cm²) shows how much light energy your skin receives. With up to 53 mW/cm², O LED delivers higher output than most at-home LED’s ensuring deeper penetration, faster activation of skin cells, and more visible results in less time.

TREATMENT MODES AND SKIN CONCERNS

What skin concerns does each light wavelength treat?

Red (630nm): Stimulates collagen & elastin, reduces wrinkle depth, supports circulation and repair

Yellow (590nm): Brightens, evens tone, reduces redness and hyperpigmentation.

Blue (415nm): Targets Acne-causing bacteria, reduces oil and inflammation

NIR (850nm): enhances healing, tissue repair, scar improvement and joint comfort.

What are the treatment modes?

Mode 1 – Age-Defy & Revitalise (Red + NIR)

Uses Red and Near Infrared light to promote collagen, reduce lines and improve firmness.

Mode 2 – Even Tone & Repair (Yellow + NIR)

Combines Yellow and Near Infrared light to brighten, calm and even the complexion.

Mode 3 – Clear & Soothe (Blue + NIR)

Combines Blue and Near Infrared light to target breakouts, reduce inflammation, and calm oil-prone skin.

Mode 4 – Complete Solution (All + NIR)

Comprehensive rejuvenation
